A general practitioner (GP) is a medical doctor who provides primary care and specializes in family medicine. A GP treats acute and chronic illnesses and provides preventive care and health education for all ages and both sexes. They have particular skills in treating people with multiple health issues and co morbidities.
They may perform some minor surgeries like circumcisions. And some minor procedures such as wound suturing, removal of skin lesions etc in their offices.
The GPs. provide round the clock 24/7 emergency and casualty services also.
In KBMC we have a well equipped emergency medical care team of GPs and nurses who undergo training in emergency preparedness and frequent mock drills to handle emergency situations.
The centre also organizes Basic life support training to all its personnel. |
