Patient Rights
Information -You have the right to receive information about your medical problems,
investigations, treatment plan, risks, benefits and likely outcome of any treatment or procedure.
Assistance can be availed in the language of your convenience so that you can make informed
health care decisions.
Choices of Providers -You have the right to choose a particular health care provider and such choice
shall not be contrary to the ethical standards. You have the right to know the name and specialty of
any doctor or any other health care provider who is delivering care for you.
Access to Emergency Services- In case of emergencies (like severe pain, injury or sudden illness) you
have the right to receive treatment without prior authorization.
Participation in Treatment Decisions – you and your designee shall have the right to know all your
treatment options and participate in treatment decisions.
Respect – you have the right to expect care that is considerate and respectful. A female patient shall
be examined by a male doctor after getting the due consent and only in the presence of a female
escort.
Confidentiality: you have the right to have your healthcare information protected. Information
concerning ones health and treatment may only be disclosed with informed consent, except when
mandated in terms of law or an order of the court.
Complaints and Appeals-You have the right to a fair, fast, and objective review of any Complaint
you have against your doctors, medical center or other health care personnel. Complaint register
and Suggestion forms are available at the reception counter.
Consent- All procedures and interventions shall be done after a proper consent is taken from you. |
